CHOOSING A SLEEPING BAG

Four favorite sleeping bags from the sellers of the Scouting Camp

When choosing a sleeping bag, the most important thing for you to know is the conditions you will be sleeping in. Sleeping bags are generally divided into three categories according to temperature:
Summer sleeping bags , or two-season sleeping bags, are for late spring to early autumn.
Three-season sleeping bags are for spring to autumn, also in mild winter.
Winter sleeping bags , or four-season sleeping bags, are for autumn to spring, but also in cool summer
 .

  • Comfort: the temperature (e.g. -4 degrees) at which the average woman sleeps comfortably at night. This temperature can be used as a guideline when choosing a sleeping bag for a woman, a beginner hiker, or someone who gets cold easily.
  • Limit : the temperature (e.g. -10 degrees) at which the average person can sleep at night without feeling cold. This temperature can be considered a guideline when choosing a sleeping bag for an experienced hiker or someone who does not get cold easily.
  • Extreme : the lowest temperature (e.g. -28 degrees) at which you can survive overnight without suffering from hypothermia. This value is not really worth considering when choosing a sleeping bag for normal camping use.
